[Known Issues]
- The DMI to SNMP Mapper does not act as Remote Proxy.
- The DMI to SNMP Mapper does not support the RowStatus OBJECT, which is necessary for DmiAddRow and DmiDeleteRow mapping.
- Hewlett-Packard's OpenView* (HP OV) Network Node Manager (NNM) Release 5.01 cannot load MIB files with Object IDs (OIDs) larger than 2147483647. This known issue is corrected in consolidated patch NNM_00046.EXE released by Hewlett-Packard. Install the patch, which can be downloaded from http://ovweb.external.hp.com/cpe/patches/index.html, on the HP OV NNM console.
- The current implementation of DMI to SNMP Mapper handles the SNMP pragma OIDs only under 1.3.6.1.4.1 (enterprises). If the SNMP pragma OID is out of the 1.3.6.1.4.1 scope, the Mapper ignores it and generates a dynamic OID.
- The run-time agent guarantees the lexicographic order for the SNMP getnext request for the first part of an OID, including DMI component ID and group ID. It does not guarantee it for the keys' part of an OID inside of a specific DMI component and group.
- Since Novell NetWare SNMP Master Agent does not support octet strings longer than 256 bytes, the DMI to SNMP Mapper returns only the first 256 bytes from the value of the requested attribute, if this value is longer than 256 bytes.
- Installing Hewlett-Packard's OV NNM Release 5.02 with the Intel DMI 2.0 NetWare Service Provider (SP) SDK (Release 1.0 or later). HP OV NNM Release 5.02 installs wcdmi.dll, wcdmidce.dll and wdmiutil.dll to the system32 directory. Intel DMI 2.0 NetWare Service Provider (SP) SDK (Release 1.0 or later) installs these dlls on the same Windows* NT* machine to a user-selected directory. This causes a conflict at runtime. In order to solve this problem, delete wcdmi.dll, wcdmidce.dll and wdmiutil.dll from the system32 directory on the Windows NT machine.
- Legacy DMI indication support. The DMI to SNMP Mapper supports any legacy instrumentation supported by the DMI 2.0 Service Provider, including DMI 1.1 indications conforming to the Desktop Management Interface Specification version 1.1 (January 1996), Section 4.4. The DMI 2.0 Service Provider behavior with non-conforming indication formats is unpredictable and may cause an ABEND of the system.
